The Yusuf Maitama Tuggar Foundation continues its mission to improve healthcare accessibility and quality across Bauchi state with the launch of a comprehensive Community Midwifery Training Program. Aimed at enhancing maternal and child health outcomes, the program provides essential training to aspiring midwives in various local government areas, empowering them to serve their communities with skill and compassion.

Healthcare Initiatives:

  • Community Midwifery Training: Equipping aspiring midwives with the knowledge, skills, and expertise necessary to provide essential maternal and child healthcare services. Training sessions are conducted in collaboration with local healthcare facilities and educational institutions, ensuring participants receive comprehensive and practical instruction.
  • Expansion Across Local Government Areas: Extending the reach of the program to multiple local government areas, including Katagum, Shira, Zaki, Jama’are, Giade, and 15 other communities. By providing training opportunities in diverse regions, the Foundation aims to address healthcare disparities and ensure equitable access to quality maternal and child health services.

Ambassador Yusuf Maitama Tuggar underscored the importance of investing in healthcare infrastructure and workforce development to improve health outcomes and promote community well-being. He stated, “Access to skilled healthcare professionals is crucial for ensuring the health and safety of mothers and children. Through our Community Midwifery Training Program, we are empowering individuals to play a vital role in promoting maternal and child health and reducing preventable deaths.”

The impact of the Foundation’s healthcare initiatives extends beyond the training of midwives, contributing to improved maternal and child health indicators and fostering a culture of health and wellness within communities. As trained midwives enter the workforce, they become catalysts for positive change, providing essential healthcare services and advocating for improved health practices.

The Yusuf Maitama Tuggar Foundation remains committed to its mission of advancing healthcare and improving the quality of life for individuals and families across Bauchi state. Through strategic investments in healthcare infrastructure, workforce development, and community engagement, the Foundation continues to make a meaningful difference in the lives of residents.
